PLEASE READ: Since this video was produced in 2007, $130,000 in COCINA donations have been received and an all-Haitian staff of 22 persons has been hired to operate the Univers Medical Center 40-50 hours per week. This support from COCINA donors allows the Haitian-staffed clinic to operate through December 2009. After that, COCINA must depend on its donors to provide $11,000 per month to keep the clinic operating with its 2 doctors, 3 nurses, 2 lab technicians, pharmacist and support staff.
The clinic is serving about 1125 patients per month, and the patient load is increasing.
